How Something Borrowed Works

1. Book Online

Book an appointment at one of our participating stores.
2. Collect

Visit the showroom, browse styles with our expert consultants & select your ring.
(You’ll need to bring ID and complete a quick card pre-authorisation before leaving)
3. Propose

Pop the question with a beautiful display ring in hand, without having to secretly choose the forever ring yourself.
4. Return

Bring the stand-in back to Diamonds Factory within seven days, and there’s no charge.

We’ll even offer you a complimentary design consultation so you and your new fiance can design the perfect ring together.

*A $150 pre-authorisation is placed on your card at collection and released when the ring is returned on time and in good condition. If it is not returned by day 7, the $150 is processed as the purchase price. Full T&Cs apply.

Is Something Borrowed really free?

Yes. The loan is free. At collection a $150 pre-authorisation is placed on your card and it is released when the ring comes back on time and in good condition. If the ring is not returned by the end of day 7 (or an agreed extension), the $150 is processed as the purchase price of the display ring.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Valid Australian photo ID (driver licence or passport) matching the name on your booking, and a credit or debit card in your own name. You need to be 18 or over.

How long can I keep the ring?

Seven days from collection, with collection day counting as day 1. Return it to the same showroom by close of business on day 7 with its box and condition receipt. If you need longer, contact the showroom before day 7 and one extension of up to seven days may be granted.

What kind of ring will I borrow?

A showroom display ring: a beautiful stand-in made from base metals with plating and cubic zirconia stones. It lets you propose with a ring in hand, then design the forever ring together.

What happens after the proposal?

Bring the ring back and your complimentary couples design consultation is unlocked, bookable within 30 days of return, with no obligation to buy.

Can I change or cancel my appointment?

Yes, free of charge at any time before collection, using the link in your confirmation email. To change the day or time, cancel and book again.

Which showrooms take part?

All seven Diamonds Factory showrooms in Australia: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra. Appointments run Monday to Friday, with two times each day: 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
